'Fletcher' documents a simple activity--baking-- carried out a blind man. It is not revealed that the baker is blind until the end of the film. The film examines the basic assumptions that the audience holds when they see a set of actions, and reveals how in the most simple and mundane activities, although they may be performed differently, we are all alike. The film is nearly silent and shot in an honest, straightforward manner and lacks a score. It documents a simple activity in a simple fashion, but, as the fact that the baker is blind is slowly revealed, it intrigues the audience and challenges its assumptions.
